    The Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market is a world-acclaimed cultural event that draws nearly 15,000 visitors and nearly 600 of the nation’s most outstanding and successful American Indian artists. You’ll meet traditional and cutting-edge contemporary artists as well as young artists selling their art alongside their relatives.

    All proceeds support the Museum’s mission to be the world’s preeminent museum for the presentation, interpretation and advancement of American Indian art, emphasizing its intersection with broader artistic and cultural themes.

    General Admission tickets for age 17 and older are $20.

    Member discounted admission tickets are $15 (limit 2).

    Children 16 and under are free. All other discounted tickets (Military, American Indian, Students) must be purchased in person with applicable I.D.

    The Heard Museum is closed on Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Also, please note that the museum closes at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

    Hours and pricing are subject to change. Pre-pay Admission tickets are valid for 1-year from their purchase/transaction date.

    The Teacher’s Resource Art Posters are available throughout the year, and feature art objects that are found in HOME: Native Peoples of the Southwest. The full color 11×17 inch posters include detailed information on the back with object description, cultural context, vocabulary and suggested in-classroom discussion topics.

    A set of ten posters is offered for free with paid shipping and handling costs of $5.


  • Yua: Henri Matisse and the Inner Arctic Spirit


    October 29, 2018 through February 3, 2019

    Yua: Henri Matisse and the Inner Arctic Spirit will explore the surprising and little-known story of how Inuit people and culture inspired one of the 20th century’s most influential artists, Henri Matisse. Included in the exhibition will be works by Matisse that have not been publicly shown in the United States, and will reunite dozens of stunning Yup’ik (Native Alaskan) mask sets that have been separated for more than a century.

  • Museum Yoga

    Museum Yoga!

    Join Rooted Community Yoga Project at the Heard Museum on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month for guided yoga practice at the Heard Museum! All levels are welcome. Each week, the yoga session will take place in a new location on the Heard campus. This is a great way to tour the Heard Museum, learn about the unique places you will practice yoga and have fun!

    Upcoming Dates: September 8 & 22; October 13 & 27; November 10 & 24; December 8 & 22; January 12 & 26, 2019; February 23 (no Yoga on 2/9--but please come to our World Championship Hoop Dance Competition); March 9 & 23; April 13 & 27; May 11 & 25; June 8 & 22; July 13 & 27 -- just choose you date from the calendar above.

    Rooted Community Yoga Project (RCYP) – Jillian Seamans and Jessy Smith are Arizona-based sisters on a mission to make yoga accessible to all by taking it out of the studio and into the community. Classes are all-levels, donation based and held in local businesses and public spaces. RCYP gives back through regular yoga charity events to raise funds and awareness for local non-profits and other worthy causes. 

    • Please consult a medical professional before beginning any exercise program. Participants attend at their own risk.
    • Yoga participants are encouraged to bring their own mat; a select few are available on a first come first served basis.
    • Please be aware that this is event is open to the first 30 registrants.

    Join us for a continuation of our unique Pop-Up Studio! where attendees engage with art through a specially guided walk-through of the Heard's exclusive and groundbreaking exhibition YUA: Henri Matisse and the Inner Arctic Spirit to learn about the exhibition and themes through the lens of artists. 

    Following the walk-through the class will be led through a guided art activity that dives deeper into the themes presented in the exhibition. Each participant leaves with a meaningful piece of collaborative artwork!
